For families prioritizing school quality specifically, Milton and Burlington in Ontario rank very highly. For affordability, Quรฉbec City and Halifax are outstanding.
Both are excellent. Ontario offers more cultural diversity, better transit in urban areas, and more city options. Alberta's 0% provincial income tax saves families $10,000โ€“$20,000/year, and Calgary and Edmonton have excellent schools and safe suburbs. For pure financial value, Alberta is hard to beat for families.
Halton Region (Milton, Burlington, Oakville) consistently ranks highest in Ontario for school quality according to the Fraser Institute. In BC, West Vancouver and Saanich rank highest. Quebec City's schools also perform well. Alberta's schools are generally strong province-wide.
